With office changes common as the economy changes, office furniture needs to be versatile. Herman Miller has a variety of office furniture systems. My Studio Environment is one of them. This system has a comfortable and personal feel for it. Interaction is controllable. Some of the features of this Douglas Ball designed office system that includes the following:

  • Variable privacy levels
  • Effective and productive space
  • Personalizes space
  • Creative and interactive designs
  • Light, airy, and spacious

The individual is the focus of the My Studio Environment Office System. It combines a focused workspace that has controlled privacy with an open plan environment for interaction and creative collaboration. It is designed to attract and keep high quality staff by providing them with an innovative environment that encourages creativity and provides a place to develop. This is accomplished with the following unique design concepts:

  • Curved outer corners with open inner corners
  • “Floating” walls
  • Primary work space faces entrance
  • Zoned areas
  • Sliding translucent windows

The workspace of a My Studio Environments has three zones. One zone is for creating; it has a contoured and spacious work area. Another zone is for display; it is for easels, books, and other material that needs to be visible. The final zone is to control privacy; the translucent windows and door can be opened and closed as needed to filter outside interruptions.

The décor options include warm and cool colors, sand texture, metallic choices, and a nature inspired color palette. Outside walls have the highest height options, the side walls have lower options, and the center wall is the lowest at 46 inches.

The My Studio Environments meet strict environmental standards. The MBDC (McDonough Braungart Design Chemistry) created protocol for McDonough Braungart Cradle-to-Cradle standards are followed. This Herman Miller System is GREENGUARD certified so customers can attain LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) credits.

The center wall frame is used to route wires, cables, and 8-wire, 4-circuit power that can enter from the wall, ceiling, or the floor. The center wall frame has two receptacle locations on both sides for data and power. The powered center wall can hold UTP cables at a 40% or 60% fill rate depending on the number of cables. A power and data distributor plugs into the center wall and attaches under the main work surface. There is a trough that routes cables, wires, and cords in addition to holding the distributor’s conduit.
